On May 16-17, 2018, the 5th Infosibir conference was held in Novosibirsk, dedicated to health informatization. The first time I was at this event in 2016, and then I liked it because of its openness, as described in more detail here http://www.kmis.ru/blog/o-mezhregionalnomforum-infosibir/. Therefore, this year it was decided to repeat participation.
There have been a lot of different conferences on our topic recently, different both in specificity and in approaches to the choice of directions, organizers, target audience, etc.
For the last 2 months I was able to attend 4 such events, and it was missed even more. I can confidently note that the modern participant (visitor) of the conference on medical IT is a spoiled comrade. Give him a convenient room, and an interesting program, and coffee-cookies to be sure, and it is convenient to get there - in general, there are many complaints. And about our brother-speaker - this is a separate “song”. Now it is absolutely not enough to throw slides into the presentation and go out with advertising of your beloved one, repeating the same mantras from conference to conference. In order to “hook” the audience, you have to seriously prepare, understand its expectation, give out some really interesting things - either new products, or analytics, or controversial and interesting ideas, etc. In general, our professional industry in front of our eyes forced thematic conferences to mature both in content and in terms of expectations from the organization, where the competition is nuanced and where it depends on the little things whether the event stands out against the general background or not.
